KARACHI: Two alleged suicide bombers were killed in an exchange of fire with personnel of the Counter Terrorism Department in the Shah Latif area of Karachi.
On a tip-off, the CTD raided at a hideout in the Shah Latif area, where an encounter took place, which left two suicide bombers dead on the spot and injured a security man.
CTD SSP Junaid Sheikh said that the raiding team recovered suicide jackets, hand grenades and weapons from the hideout. The bomb disposal squad defused the suicide jackets, he said without disclosing the identity of the slain suspects.
The bodies were shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities.
