MULTAN: Punjab Sports Board Director General Zulfiqar Ahmad Ghumman said that the provincial government was paying special focus on promotion of sports as more grounds and stadiums would be constructed soon.
Addressing a ceremony of Zaheer Abbas Cricket Academy here at the District Sports Ground on Friday, Ghumman said that they were arranging various sports programme and a programme titled “South gala” would also be arranged soon in districts of South Punjab. He said that the construction of maximum grounds was also a vision of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
He said that sports activities were vital for youth to keep them away from negative activities. To another question, he said that the Punjab Sports Board would fully cooperate with the district administration for laying astro-turf in Multan.
He said that December 31 was a deadline for completion of the Gymnasium Hall at the Sports Ground. Earlier, the DG sports board awarded a prize of Rs 10,000 to disable cricketer Matloob Qureshi on his brilliant performance against England recently.
